little update on my linux experience: it’s been pretty great so far and i have been able to run most of the software i need on a daily basis without any issues either natively or with wine, but some proprietary software still doesn’t work/ apparently according to what i read online some of it doesn’t work because of my nvidia graphics card now: i am not going to change my hardware configuration just to properly run linux and i am not going to completely change workflow after years either, so the best approach (since i do not want to deal with virtual machines with gpu passthrough) is probably the old trick of dual booting with a clean installation of windows stripped from all the slop and tbf when my computer takes like three seconds to reboot it is totally doable but yeah sadly i can’t just abandon windows once and for all, i have spent a few days trying to do just that but some software simply doesn’t work
